It's always good to hear how Vacation Bible School is transforming children, like this except from Lindsay Yarbrough's blog:
VBS comes to an end tomorrow and as sad as I am, it will nice to be back on a schedule that doesn't start as early! We have had so much fun at Camp Edge and I have enjoyed each and every child, day and song. Losing 5 pounds because I've danced 4 hours a day 4 days in a row doesn't hurt my feelings either. Thrilled to be a small part of what God has done in these children's lives this week. The best part of the week was today when a 6th grader, whose name I won't reveal but LOVED, shouted as he was running down the aisle of the sanctuary where music takes place........"You gotta show it!.....Music's my favorite class of this whole VBS thing!" "You gotta show it" is one of our theme songs. So, if you don't have a 6th grader, let me tell you, this was BIG. This kid came with another friend and had "goofed off" most of the time......until this song came on. He immediately shifted gears and participated like he was on stage with the band. He, by the way, is one of those kids whose peers look up to. So, tomorrow, he will be on stage dancing, and more importantly, singing with us! Can't wait! Rock on 6th grade!

You can create similar Scripture Treasures using the Craft Theme Stickers. Simply affix the stickers to a piece of carboard cut into a dog tag shape and then laminate or cover with clear tape for a lamination effect. Also, you may want to use the free Camp E.D.G.E. VBS Clip Art.

A VBS Lesson in Greek

In several of our VBS 2009 leader books, we incorrectly identified the Greek character for Session Four as a gamma. The correct name for the symbol Y is upsilon. Please make this correction when explaining the meaning of the symbols to the children during Session Five. All books printed after we identified the error, including the Reproducible Fun Pages, identify the symbol correctly. We regret the error.
VBS 2009 Web Tools!

Cokesbury is offering FREE Online Registration Tools to help you as a VBS leader. These tools allow you to create a special Camp E.D.G.E. VBS website just for your church where you can send people to sign up as a participant or volunteer. Then, it allows you to sort these registrants into Groups and print out attendance lists.
You can access the tools by clicking the Tools button from the menu. We have also created a short 15-20 minute video that will take you step by step through using the Online Registration Tools. Click here to view the video.

On the Camp E.D.G.E. VBS 2009 Attendance Stickers for Nametags, it says there are 120 stickers. Unfortunately, there are only 100 stickers in the pack. Each sheet will have 25 stickers and there are four sheets. 100 stickers will be enough for 20 students. We apologize for the inconvenience and will be leaving this product at 20% Off for the remainder of the 2009 VBS season.
